Dear HRHF Supporters,
April has arrived and the farm is fully alive. The horses are soaking up the sunshine, green sprouts are pushing up through the ground, and our spring sessions are in full swing with one of our strongest rosters yet. New participants are finding their footing, our returning participants are hitting their stride, and the connections forming on this farm are exactly what this work is all about. This community continues to fill us with gratitude and we are so glad you are here for this season.
Farm Happenings: Take a peek at what we've been up to at the farm:
Register now for Summer Camp — July 27–31, spots are limited, spread the word!
High Ridge Harmony Farm Goes on TV - Barbara and Christy recently sat down with FATV's Barbara & You show for a 30 minute conversation about the farm and the work we do in our community. Watch the video
A New Chapter - We are proud to announce the launch of our Lead from the Heart Program and to welcome our very first Herd Ambassador. This milestone celebrates a long term participant who has grown into a leader — and marks the beginning of a meaningful new pathway at the farm.
United Way Recognizes HRHF The United Way of North Central Massachusetts will be visiting the farm in May — and Barbara has been invited to join their youth mental health roundtable. We are grateful to be part of these important regional conversations.
Volunteer Professional Development — School vacation week gave us the perfect opportunity to pause sessions and invest in our volunteer team with a dedicated training session. Good people are getting even better!
Monty Tech Vet Tech Visit — On April 30th, we welcome approximately 20 Monty Tech freshman vet tech students to the farm for a hands-on skills day. Students will work directly with our herd completing tasks required toward their certification. We love being a place where the next generation of animal health professionals gets to learn!
Volunteer Spotlight - Kayla
Kayla joined the farm team during the winter 26’ sessions. She volunteers as a sidewalker during sessions, as well as in the barn afterwards. She’s flexible and always willing to switch roles as needed. Kayla is excellent at working with the participants and encouraging them to work together with the horses. Her positive energy and loving personality show in how she thoughtfully works with the kids and cares for the horses.
Moments That Matter - Skyler and Aurora
A Friendship in Bloom 🌸
Skylar and Aurora both arrived quietly this winter, finding their footing individually before the farm worked its magic. Over the course of the season, these two participants discovered a shared love of horses — and each other. What began as side-by-side grooming sessions grew into a genuine partnership: leading Coco together across the bridge, decorating Emmy with chalk highlights, and cheering each other on at every turn. By the end of each session, they are lifting the heavy bins together — each grabbing a side — and telling us how proud they are of one another. Watching their friendship bloom alongside their confidence has been one of the true highlights of our winter season. This is exactly what the farm is here for.

April is a month of momentum here at High Ridge Harmony Farm. Relationships are deepening, participants are growing, and the connections forming between people and animals on this farm are exactly what this work is all about. The energy right now is something we do not take for granted for even a moment.
Thank you for believing in this work. We could not do it without you. 🐴🌿
With gratitude from all of us at HRHF, Barbara Cudak and the High Ridge Harmony Farm Team
